25 Degrees and Sunny

We had a wonderful weekend here, 25 degrees both days. We brought our spare bikes over from Mikes place for my friends and we did a few cycle rides on the weekend which was really nice.

Apart from getting totally trashed on saturday night, i have stuck pretty well to my diet. I have lost a kilo in two weeks. I hope to be down to around 60kg after the next two weeks. Still feel like there is a long way to go though. It was bad of me letting myself get so overweight.

I’m not feeling particularly verbose today so that is it for now.

Summer Breeze

fireworks.jpgLast night was Summer Breeze on the Quay. This happens every Thursday night in summer where they have live bands and outdoor entertainment on the quay, and an awesome fireworks display at 10pm, which we just happen to get a brilliant view of from my study if we cant be bothered venturing out too late.

I have friends coming to visit from London this weekend, so I really should get cracking and tidy up. But as usual I leave things until the last minute. At least  it looks like the weather is picking up.

Have a good weekend everyone

NZ and Hong Kong photos

New Zealand and  Hong Kong photos are available for viewing via the Photos link at the top of the page.

Its an absolutely miserable day today. wet cold and windy. There aint no way I am leaving the house today.

Diet Update

I was just kidding with that last post, we do have a real toilet in now, not a porta potti. but Mike still has to paint and stuff so I will post the new photos when he has finished. By the way you can look at the pictures of our new kitchen via the Renovation Project link at the top of the page.

I am 7 days into my detox diet and it is going well although I fell off the wagon slightly on the weekend. I never thought I could actually enjoy a Vegetarian diet. A Vegetarian diet without dairy or wheat even. Alot of vegetarians smother their food in cheese to get any taste. Seems to be missing the point of vegetarianism if you do that. But this diet is extremely tasty without all that. Before the diet, bread and pasta were pretty big in my life, but I have been wheat free for over a week now and I’m not missing it at all.  I’m still getting the bloating though, so wheat doesnt seem to be the cause of that (i didnt think it was but everyone else seemed to think it was. narrow minded people).

On the scales I have lost a kilo, but I am a bit reluctant to believe that as I dont feel any thinner. Also I have gone from 30.7% body fat to 30.4%. Again, I am a bit reluctant to believe my body fat scales here too. I want to see results not read them.

I will see how i look and feel after the 30 days (23 more days to go)

New Loo

I have been a bit blogslack lately. been quite busy at work for a change. And aside from work my life seems to revolve around dieting and getting fit. How boring am I?

Mike is keeping busy. He has almost finished the bathroom, he has put a door on our outside shed so we can now use it for bikes and storage, and today he is installing a new toilet. We got a toilet to go from B&Q (Bunnings equivalent) for £60. I think that is pretty cheap really, with a push button flush. Will be a nice change from our existing toilet with a horrible chain flush. Its repulsive!

Here are some BEFORE photos. I will post after photos when he has finished, so keep an eye out!

Detox Diet

I started the detox diet yesterday and so far so good, the food has been delicious. I didnt think it possible to go wheat free and not be hungry. Here was yesterdays menu:

Breakfast – Muesli with apricots and dates

Lunch – Tuna with lime and dill, curried quinoa and toasted almond and herb salad

Dinner – Aduki bean casserole topped with sprouted mung beans

The mung beans were just like noodles.

Dog Food

Mum asked us to pick up some dog food from the New World as it was on special. We were standing in the queue at the till. A woman behind us asked if we had a dog. Mike told her that no, that we were starting the “Dog Food” diet again, although we probably shouldn’t because he ended up in the hospital last time, but that he’d lost 50 pounds before waking up in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of his orifices and IVs in both arms.

He told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and the way that it works is to load your trouser pockets with dog food nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so he was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the queue was by now enthralled with Mike’s story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

Horrified, she asked if he’d ended up in the  hospital in that condition because he’d been poisoned. He told her no, it was because he’d been sitting in the road licking his balls and a car hit him.

I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door. Stupid cow……….why else would we buy dog food??

detoxinabox

I am starting yet another diet tomorrow. This time I am going through a company called detoxinabox. Their food is free of wheat, dairy, red meat and additives. It’s middle eastern type food and is apparently quite tasty. They deliver the food and it covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. So I am gonna trial it for 30 days and see how I go.
